One of the most common questions we hear at Blush Virginia is simple: how often should you get a facial? For most skin types, a professional facial every four to six weeks keeps your skin balanced, clear and glowing. That timing follows your skin's natural renewal cycle, so each visit builds on the last rather than starting over.
Why every four to six weeks works for most skin
Your skin naturally turns over roughly once a month. A facial supports that cycle with deep cleansing, gentle exfoliation, extractions where needed, and hydration. Spacing visits four to six weeks apart gives your skin time to renew without over-treating it.
When you might come in more often
- Active breakouts or congestion: a series of visits two to three weeks apart can help you get ahead of it.
- Before an event or wedding: we'll map a short schedule so your skin peaks on the day, not the week after.
- Seasonal changes: Northern Virginia's humid summers and dry, heated winters both shift what your skin needs.
When less often is perfectly fine
If your skin is calm, healthy and low-maintenance, every six to eight weeks may be all you need to maintain results. The right rhythm is the one your esthetician recommends after looking at your skin in person.
A note on skin conditions
Facials are cosmetic treatments that support healthy-looking skin. They are not a substitute for medical care. If you're managing a diagnosed skin condition such as persistent cystic acne, rosacea or eczema, please also work with a dermatologist — we're happy to complement that care.
